Last week, I won a contest on the radio. The station is a couple of hundred yards from my home, so I figured it would be easy to collect.
Nope. The prize was at a car dealership, 30 miles from home.
Earlier this week, I took a trip down to pick up the prize.
Turns out it was a gift card for a pizza place/bar. A quite good one.
That's maybe a hundred yards from my house, in the opposite direction from the radio station.
Anyone in the Lebanon area wanna help me burn off that gift card some evening?
Updates: 1) I combined the trip with my bi-weekly grocery expedition -- groceries are a heck of a lot cheaper in Claremont than in the Lebanon area; B) the pizza place is in Lebanon, NEW HAMPSHIRE; III) I like puppies and children, when prepared and served properly; beaches are nice, but sand tends to get into uncomfortable places.

Jay...depending on what kind of vehicle you drive...30x2=60
How much did you spend on gas for that "prize"?
Were you told when you "won" that it was for a pizza?
Would you have driven that far for a "free"pizza?
You have usually portrayed yourself as a logical cynic..however...
c'mon...shouldn't you have known that you really did not win a car?
(don't get me wrong...wife and I sat through a time share sales pitch in order to get a weber grill)

Do you like long walks on the beach? Puppies? Children? If you are looking for a date, we need more information.

Jay
I won a prize from a local station a few weeks ago. It's for a free lunch at Red Mile in Lexington, a local harness racing track.
Looks to me like you might get a date out of your prize so I'm offering to trade....my prize for your date (and you can keep your prize!!)
BTW...the question I answered to earn the prize: In what city did Mardis Gras begin? No Googling (honor system) and Paul is disqualified.

If it had been Lebanon, Maine - I would have been there. Sadly, Lebanon, Maine has........... very little to offer by way of entertainment.

Please count the number of times the terrorist-cheering liberal dems declared the US military as Nazis and we need to surrender to the terrorists.
There's Dick Durbin's remark about Guantanamo that "you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime, Pol Pot or others, that had no concern for human beings."
Naomi Wolf goes even further:

There's two big liberals right there. Took about one minute to find.
As far as surrendering, well the Democratic controlled congress is debating about a withdrawl on a timeline. Why? Did we win and it's time to go home? Well, then why leave?

I just saw Jack Bauer land a jet plane on a freeway in California (WITHOUT even SLOWING DOWN before he DEPLOYED the LANDING GEAR!) so if your car has wings and can fly at supersonic speed (AND land on a CA freeway!), then, O.K.
The liking-puppies things helps, too.
