Drudge is reporting on the 60 Minutes interview and has a few details. Mitt discusses his faith as well as his criticisms of the Bush Administration's handling of the Iraq war:
"I think the administration made a number of errors," he tells Wallace. "I don't think we were adequately prepared for what occurred. I don't think we did enough planning. I don't think we considered the various downsides and risks," says Romney.
He says President Bush isn't the only one to blame. "He's the person where the buck stops, but it goes through the secretary of defense and the planning agencies, the Department of State -- it's the whole administration," Romney says. "They made mistakes... and we're paying for those mistakes."The president's "surge" policy of putting additional troops into Iraq may never work, says Romney, but it deserves a chance. "We're going to know in a matter of months if it's working or not working."
Romney acknowledges that voters may have a problem with his religion's history of polygamy. "That's part of the history of the church's past that I understand is troubling to people," he says. The practice, outlawed before 1900, is equally troubling to him. "I have a great-great grandfather. They were trying to build a generation out there in the desert and so he took additional wives as he was told to do. And I must admit, I can't image anything more awful than polygamy," he tells Wallace.
Romney's wife, Ann, who converted to the Mormon Church before they were married, is also interviewed. When asked whether they broke the strict church rule against premarital sex, Romney says, "No, I'm sorry, we do not get into those things," but still managed to blurt out "The answer is no," before ending that line of questioning.
Mike Wallace is so crass. I can't believe he asked them if they engaged in premarital sex. That's none of his damn business, and Romney shouldn't have answered.

"3 admitted they don't believe in science"
That was a loaded far leftist "question".
Facts: Very simple life forms first appeared on Earth. Over a very, very long time life forms evolved into the millons of species we have today. Genetic mutation and natural selection were largely responsible for the process.
Leftist Religion: Life started in a pool of ooze by primative simple organic molecules happening to all be in the perfect place at the right time. Over the millenia, through natural, random genetic mutation and natural selection those very simple life forms evolved into the diversity we have today.
Theist Religion (except for a handful of extremists who take Genesis literally): An intelligent designer planted the first very simple life forms on Earth many, many years ago. Over the millenia, while natural selection played a large role in diversification within familes, genuses, and species, that intelligent designer directed the evolution of those first living things into the diversity of life we have today.
AWP, when you say: "3 admitted they don't believe in science." what your saying is that they didn't believe in your religion. Not science. At least I doubt the three that raised their hands believed Genesis literally and didn't belive that life gradually evolved on Earth. I could be wrong, but there are some pretty big nuts on both sides.

The way it works in Islam, Drew, is that functionally, only the prosperous have more than one wife, because each wife is supposed to be supported equally. The calculus is, though, that for every wife more than one a prosperous man has, a less prosperous man must be promised virgins in heaven, and that probably is an unimaginable evil.
At the very least, an evil with unintended consequences. Allah, you see what you've let that puppy get away with? Now straighten him out, or suffer the inevitable consequences.

I don't see anything hypocritical about someone changing their view from being personally against abortion but in favor of legalized abortion to that of being someone against legal abortion. To say this is hypocrisy and label it as some sort of sin is to declare that people aren't allowed to listen to new ideas and change their minds. It is cute to hear people from the left call this hypocrisy, when we all know that they preach to everyone about the importance of being "open minded." I'd wager to say that it is hypocrisy, in fact, to simultaneously hold the view that human beings should be open minded to new ideas and also call Mitt Romney a hypocrite.

Is Wallace gonna ask Hillary that question about premarital sex? And after she answers, is he gonna ask her about Bill?

I believe that Mitt was referring to having more than one mother-in-law when saying how "awful" polygamy is.

Mr. Romney, was awesome. I think he shows he really cares about the US, and wants to make changes for the better. I for one think he's the perfect kind of man for the job. He's smart, loyal, charming, and enjoys what he is doing. What a great family too! We need a president we can be proud of, and one we can trust!

I think it would be pretty useless to ask HC if she and Bill had sex prior to their marriage when it has been printed repeatedly that they had lived together. I wonder if Mike Wallace had sex prior to his marriage. I don't thinkt hese are very useful questions. What would have happened if before a person married, perhaps she or he didn't live by Christian virtues later adopted in life?
