This week's Weekend Caption Contest™ was another stunning success. Hey, does anyone know the difference between a female track team and a tribe of pygmies? OK, so I didn't pick any winners from the throngs of "cunning runts" entries, but the winners were uniformly top quality. The assignment this week was to caption the following picture:
Here are the winning entries:
1) (scotty) - "Pat Benatar's triumphant comeback!"
2) (Baron Von Ottomatic) - "Running of the bull dykes."
3) (SCSIwuzzy) - "The Manolo, he doesn't know to cheer or to cry. The shoes..."
Honorable Mention
4) (914) - "And its Gloria Estefan by a nose!"
5) (fustian) - "The news spread quickly, a straight man had somehow wandered into San Francisco..."
6) (Bo) - "Nike unveils the 'Air F**k Me Pump'"
The Opposites Attract Awards go to:
(Stephen Macklin) - "OH MY GOD!
IT"S JAY TEA!!!!"
(Pat) - "OH MY GOD!
IT'S JAY TEA!!!!
RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!"
Until next Friday...

Thanks for showing your true stripes, Kev. And, on behalf of the rest of the thinking world, allow me to say: Fuck off.

I'm guessing that the Benatar comment is referring to that Love is a battlefield video moment where benatar has all the girls dancing behind her (think shoulder shuffle). And Manolo is a shoeblogger of sorts.

As much as I revel in my own humor, my two favorites are the Nike and Manolo captions.
For those who do not know, Manolo is a shoe blogger that writes in a pseudo italian dialect and comments on life and culture when he is not talking about women's shoes. He is so droll that even those of us not particularly interested in "the shoes of the super fanstastic peoples" find him very funny.

Most of my other entries were much more blantantly sexist and vulgar; personally I thought the International Women's Day sponsored by Palmolive was the best.
The diversity co-ordinator who sits next door to me at the office didn't think it was too funny either.
My failure to work in a Bush=Hitler analogy or a Dick Cheney hunting joke means everyone can't be happy this week. Pity.
And it might surprize you to know that despite the frequent use of language that would make Andrew Silverstein blush I do indeed love the ladies.
