Update: Guilty on all counts:
Count 1: guilty of murder in first degree
Count 2: guilty of burglary
Count 3: guilty of kidnapping
Count 4: guilty of sexual batter on a child under 12 years of age
The penalty phase begins on Tuesday.

Not me.
When they found her body, buried alive in a plastic bag, two fingers were sticking out, indicative of her trying to dig herself out.
I'm not necessarily a violent person, but I'd take the IV tube and wrap it around that monster's neck.
Forgive my bloodlust (and I don't mean to hog the comments), but this guy is the Death Penalty Poster Boy, and deserves a death much worse than the one he will rec'v.
Now, I'm just waiting to hear from the pro-choice, anti-death penalty leftists.

There's a slight difference between being found guilty about lying about telling the truth about a liar, and the abduction, sexual molestation and live entombment of a 12 year old girl.
I'm not sure what that difference is, per se, but I'll betcha' it's rather profound.

All this talk of retroactive justice/revenge is one thing. I too would like nothing better than to park 158 grains of JHP in this...individuals.. brain pan.
I'm sorry, that's too easy, and so is legal injection.
Long ago, Larry Niven wrote a a short story that I beleive is titled "A Sense of Proportion". In this story,an ambassador from another world is kidnapped, and dies from a lack of care from allergies that caused him to suffocate in Earth's atmosphere.
The kidnappers were, in due time,caught and turned over to the aliens(who had the advantage over us Earthlings, kind of an "or else" situation) and were slowly suffocated to death.
These executions were broadcast publicly, and upon hearing the resultant uproar, the head alien said that we humans lack a sense of proportion...
Maybe we should think about that for a bit.

yo. I'd only faint because I'm so squeamish about needles & stuff, but if it were a matter that either I inserted the IV or he'd have life in prison, I'd get that IV in somehow.

Sorry, don't remember the origin and I twisted it slightly to fit but I could do it...no qualms about snuffing a wretched piece of garbage like him.
Unfortunately the odds of him dying in his sleep in a cell are greater than him dying on a gurney with a state supplied needle and drug cocktail in his veins thanks to the PC'ism against 'cruel and unusual punishment' in this country. I hate to do this, but I have to stand up for Herman, at least until he clarifies his statement. I've written sarcastic comments on another blog before and been accused of all sorts of stuff, so I'd like to wait and see if he meant it seriously or not.
Also, I had no clue who Couey was till I read through the comments. I remember hearing about this happening, but didn't know the name of the criminal.
