I haven't touched upon the gay marriage topic in a while, but this morning the Boston Globe, of all places, let a prominent conservative activist have her say in the Legislature's flagrant violation of its Constitutional duties in the matter. Barbara Anderson hasn't had much to do with the gay marriage flap, but as the head of Citizens For Limited Taxation she's had more than her share of run-ins with the shady characters, disreputable swine, and utterly unprincipled hacks who infest the State House in Boston. (Which speaks volumes about the sheeple who keep re-electing them.)
I find that she says pretty much what I've been saying, but with far better style and actual examples, and the benefit of having been on the receiving end of the Legislature's abuses on far too many occasions.

Off thread (sorry Jay);
For anyone who missed Tim Russert this morning, if the show is rerun latter today don't miss it. It's probably the best interview he has ever had.

Sometimes it doesn't even matter if you vote.
Last November, Michigan voters approved a ban on discrimination in university entrance procedures and government hiring and contracting - a clear majority by the way.
One day later, the libs at the universities and elsewhere went public decrying this law and stating that the citizens: "didn't understand what they voted for'. Using this rather faulty thinking, they went on to state that they would not follow it, find any possible way around it, and use every imaginable legal challenge. This from the President of the University of Michigan, no less.
They are supported by innumerable Democratic politicians of whom we have far too many. Even the Governor has been prevaricating and unable to make any definitive statements about what is now the law. As a result of this and, I presume ubiquitous liberal judges, the start date for the university part has been put on hold and delayed almost a year, despite clear wording in the ballot initiative that calls for a December, 2006 start up.
Whether the will of the people can withstand the will of the liberals is now greatly in doubt, hope survived only in the form of the Republican AG absent which, truth be told, the law would probably have been already unceremoniously chucked out, using whatever excuse handy.

Jay, I think Barbara Anderson would prefer that she be described as a "prominent anti-tax activist," rather than a prominent conservative activist. While I've know her for 20 years, I can't think of any issue outside of taxes and spending where she's let her personal opinions be known. I'd peg her as a libertarian, myself -- but I'd be shocked if she were pro-life, anti-gay rights or on the right side of any of the bellwaeather social issues that separate right from left.
Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

There is Ann Arbor, and then there is the rest of Michigan. Ann Arbor refuses to accept that there is any reality other than its own little inbred society of FemNaziMoonbatGayMarxistTolerantOnlyOfIntolerantLeftists.
While there are a significant number of Wolverines who have metastasized throughout the State, I suspect that there will be a rude awakening come the next election cycle. Then again, any state that could re-elect Debbie Stabenow is in a sorry state indeed.

God hates shrimp.
Let's put a ban on shrimp and Red Lobster. The bible makes it clear that not only gays, but SHRIMP are abominable.
Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
Deuteronomy 14:9-10 says:
9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.
