Hey buck-up, at least you got Lieberman. Maybe he can run for President in '08. He can pick Frist, Allen or Santorum as his running mate.

Some corruption and abandoning our principles.
We know it certainly wasn't because the country has moved left. Even Clinton admitted that yesterday.

The 2008 race is heating up. I'm hoping that Senator Chuck Hagel runs. He's the best choice for 2008.

LaShawn Barber also called for Bush to be impeached over illegal immigration and Rich Lowry was on FNC on election night talking about how we're losing in Iraq. Sorry Lorie but I don't give their voices much weight.

George,
I didn't say I agreed with them, although I do on some points. I just thought it was interesting to read the different takes.

I've read you enough to give you benefit of the doubt, Lorie :)
I didn't think you were posting it as advice or anything. I think I'm just fed up with the never-ending post mortems pointing the blame at whoever they don't like in the GOP.

I respect LaShawn Barber a lot, and have benefited in the past from her kindness, but I think she is a bit off here.
Rich Lowry is a smart young boy, and he will probably amount to something when he grows up.

While we're on the topic of post-election analysis...
Shall we compare and contrast the tone and behavior of the losing side in '06 to the losing side in '04 ?
(Note: my hope is that the question simply triggers some introspection - not actually requesting a list. For us to stand together, the tone of the debate must change.)

Rich Lowrey says the culture of corruption was to blame for the loss.
I gotta disagree on that, or at least partially disagree.
It was the media's harping on GOP corruption that was partially to blame. Why do I say that? William Jefferson was re-elected. Harry Reid's questionable deals were almost totally ignored. Dem voter fraud was ignored in the national media. As was the corruption angle of Hastings possibly chairing the Intel Committee.
It only GOP corruption that was mentioned.
The GOP alienated their base by being jerks, not by being corrupt.
Hastert protecting Jefferson had something to do with it and that had nothing to do with Hastert being corrupt but with him acting as if Congressmen are above the law, they forgot their Contract with America stuff was another reason. Failure to do something about immigration, the list goes on.
It wasn't corruption. It was the perception, framed by the media, that the GOP was the corrupt party while the Dems were lilly white.
It was a big win for the MSM. May it be their last.
