Mark Steyn is one of my favorite authors these days on the hurdles we face post 9/11. He's got a great sense of humor.

Speaking of interviews, interesting question by Steyn to the president in the meeting with conservative journalists on Wednesday, the same day" The American people were solidly behind this when you went in and you toppled the Taliban, when you go in and you topple Saddam," columnist Mark Steyn said to the president. "But when it just seems to be a kind of thankless, semi-colonial, policing, defensive operation, with no end -- I mean, where is the offense in this?.. later" shouldn't Syria be getting some payback?" Bush's response "now you're thinking" indeed is a true believer, and far from cynical and almost convincing given all his premises, his detractors would say dangerous." Listen to unrehearsed Bush for an hour
