"Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead." If you are as old as I am you might recall that classic Chevy Chase line from the original Saturday Night Live show. I had forgotten it until I saw it referenced at Ankle Biting Pundits. Evidently the recent illness of Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro has provided a new opportunity to pull the old line out and dust it off again. I guess if Castro were to make a miraculous recovery, all those on deathwatch could avail themselves of the famous Emily Litella line delivered so many times by Gilda Radner -- "Never mind."
(Check out the line in this SNL transcript from 1975 which follows Litella's "Never mind." Over thirty years later, that line could have been written for an SNL skit today. The more things change...
