They split up and fanned out.
WASHINGTON - The last two of the 11 Egyptian exchange students who failed to show up at their college program were apprehended Sunday in Richmond, Va., customs officials said.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested Mohamed Saleh Ahmed Maray, 20, and Mohamed Ibrahim Fouaad El Shenawy, 17, at an apartment building in Richmond on Sunday night. Virginia State Police and the Richmond Police helped locate the students.Last Wednesday, one of the Egyptian students was arrested in Minneapolis and two were detained in Manville, N.J. On Thursday, two were arrested in Dundalk, Md., and one was arrested at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. Three more were arrested Friday in Des Moines, Iowa.
So, what excuse are these guys going to come up with to explain why they not only didn't show up to MSU but were instead found all over the east and midwest portions of the country? Obviously, the MSU provost's explanation that the students prefered the the excitement of New York City over Bozeman, Montana was way off.

It'll be interesting to see how this story unfolds from here now that they're in custody.
I'm witholding judgement right now, but it certainly does look suspicious...not to mention the FBI doesn't track people down for no reason.

Anyone else think this was a "dry run". A test to see how long it would take for them to get reported and then rounded up?

I wonder too if this is a test run to see how fast they would be caught and the methods employed. I think they were guinea pigs to something more. I tell you, these terrorists are crafty. It was too easy and obivious.

POP QUIZ
Fill in the blank:
It's important for the United States to exchange students with Egypt because _____________________.
Anyone?
For the life of my, I cannot imagine why we wouldn't just shut down *every* program, policy, initiative or thingie that results in young, foreign, Muslim men arriving in the USA.
WTF do we need these bearded, professionally-pissed-off clowns running around here for? Is there some valuable benefit that accrues to the USA for allowing this? Perhaps a fiendishly subtle one that escapes me?

US immigration policies are a joke. They really are.
The state department needs to be broomed out like many other agencies. Even if it means services suffer for a few years.

I agree with sanssoucy. We are at war shut down the exchange program with suspect countries. I will volunteer to draw up the list of suspect countries and nationalities that should not be permitted.
We did not continue any exchange program with Nazi Gemany, Italy or Japan during WWII.

This diasporia has been a test. It was only a test. Had this been the real thing, people would have been killed, and things blown up. We now resume our regularly scheduled whining.

let me draw your attention the even more sinister plot of 5 Irishmen who disappeared into underbelly of boston...the dozen brazilians who are hiding in the Florida swamps...and the couple from Tonga that have slipped into a resort town in Oregon...
"yearning to breathe free" indeed...they like their Egyptian counterparts are dangerously infiltrating Amerika to bring us their native cuisine...oh except the Irish...they just like to travel
