Yesterday, much of the blogosphere was abuzz with the story of Jesse MacBeth, the former US Army Ranger who admitted to committing numerous atrocities and war crimes in Iraq. The anti-war side proclaimed his "brave decision" to come forward, while our side had serious doubts.
Well, once again, it looks like our side was right -- again.
The US Army says that it has no records that indicate that Jesse MacBeth ever served in the United States Army at all, let alone in the Special Forces or ever set foot in Iraq.
A lot of people are condemning MacBeth, and I can see why. But I'd like to take a different tack.
I'd like to invite Jesse to join us, the 101st Fighting Keyboardists.
Most of us, like Jesse, have strong feelings about the war despite never having served in the Armed Forces.. (We have some veterans in our ranks, but like in the general populace, they are a distinct minority. Unlike the general populace, though, we give them great honor and respect.)
Joining is easy -- a lot easier than joining the Services, as we are a hell of a lot less demanding and discriminating as they are. It's pretty much a self-selecting process -- just say you are, and you're in.
All Jesse has to do is simply declare that he has never served, yet still wants to make his voice known about the war in Iraq. I can't speak for any other members, but I personally would welcome him.
If for no other reason than it'll give him a lot higher profile -- and that makes him a much easier target for the scorn, abuse, and contempt he has so richly earned.

The better question is why we should trust the judgment of those who claim in their hearts to legitimately oppose the war when they can so easily be fooled by a POS like Jessie MacBeth.

This should illustrate just how bankrupt organizations like Iraqi Vetrans Against War are. They can't even bother to do basic background checks on people who represent them.
MacBeth has spoken at several "rallies" under the auspices of being an Iraqi war veteran, yet he was never in the service, and a cursory glimpse at his profile at Military.com illustrted just how bogus his claims were:

Hmmm.
What was truly absurd is that this MacBeth was claiming to have been a Ranger when he was clearly wearing a USMC uniform.
Amazing that so few liberals picked up on that.

Some are calling for his arrest, how would we do that without arresting Hanoi John? The only difference in that Hanoi John visited Vietnam for a couple of months with a video camera and a book to write. He also has the Navy regulations on how to get the 'hell' out of Vietnam as soon as you phonied up a 'hero' resume. Just another left wing liar, what's the big deal since that includes 99% of them?

Further proof that some brave Chickenhawks are just common, ordinary a-holes with tough sounding Internet nicknames.
Lieutenant John Kerry volunteered for the Navy and served two tours in Vietnam. He is a decorated combat veteran and you are just a dingbat. Too bad for you.

Reality, GWB himself said that Kerry's record was better than his. The point is, Kerry has done exactly DICK since then. He expected to ride those few months over 30 years ago into the White House.
Well, that's not exactly fair. Kerry has exactly one post-war accomplishment that I not only respect, but have praised him for -- and I mean that sincerely. But I'm not doing your homework and pointing it out.

Reality,
You too can have an impressive war record. All you have to do is write it yourself -- if John Kerry can do it, so can you. Shooting yourself in the ass as the third punch on your ticket out of the country -- Priceless.
Of course we could remove all doubt of Kerry's war record if he would release all of his military records to the public. Another promise the Lord of the Dems broke.

Essentially Jesse MacBeth is a poser who pretended to be a former "Army Special Forces Ranger" who got interviewed on video about the various atrocities he did while in Iraq, while under orders from the US Army. Supposedly he and a number of other Rangers went out and murdered civilians, shot babies, etc etc etc. You know this nonsensical crap that's always being asserted.
Only problem is that not one single detail actually checks out and the guy is exposed as a poser.
