There was a burglary in Lawrence, Massachusetts last month. Thieves broke into a guy's apartment and made off with his laptop computer, a video camera, and a small safe. Nothing unusual. The victim reported the theft to the police. Again, nothing unusual. The police had no immediate leads. Once more, nothing unusual.
Until someone showed up at the police station with some of the contents of the safe. It seems that among his other valuables, Mr. James Raboin had also kept some of his prized videos and DVDs in there -- homemade kiddie porn.
Mr. Raboin is currently in custody, and the police are trying to identify the girls he recorded having sex with him. And he's looking for a long, long time behind bars.

Five will get you twenty that one or more of the thieves were victims of Raboin's, or are friends or related to the victims. Nicely done payback.

I could almost see granting a pardon... to the thieves!
As for Mr. Raboin...
Rope.
Tree.
Skittish horse.
Some assembly required.

Lee could have a thought there. The newspaper report (we all know how accurate they are) states a mother of one of the three suspected teenage thieves found out about the content of the tapes and had a third party bring the tapes to the PD.

BTW, JT, I think the article says his apartment was in Lawrence, but he works in Cow Hampshire. It also says he's married, but its not clear if the apartment was a secondary residence or not. Do some sleuthing and get the real story for us ;-)

It's too bad that New Hapshire doesn't know what to do with a needle and a megadose of sodium pentathol.

Oops, wrong drug. While sodium pentathol is administered during lethal injection, to keep it "humane" you know, it's potassium chloride that's the real hero.

kbiel, NH has a death penalty on the books. We haven't carried it out since 1939 or so, but it's there.
Fortunately for Mr. Raboin, he works (or, rather, more likely worked) in New Hampshire, but he resides in Massachusetts, where he was also arrested and charged, so he will probably get a year or so in jail.

My point exactly. They apparently don't know what to do with the needle.
I see that Massachusetts is getting tough on crime finally. :)
