Disposable razors remove far more stubble if they are used with the little plastic cap protecting the blades removed.
(Note to self: you have officially reached the age where you need more than five minutes after waking before doing anything beyond basic bodily functions. Deal with it.)

Steve L.:
When I was 17, I was going to the airport to catch a flight (parents on vacation. Neighbor giving me a ride. Home alone.) I slept through my alarm and awoke to the knock at the door. As I raced around trying to get ready to go, I quickly shaved. I remember thinking how smoothly the razor glided over my face. I also noticed that not much stubble had come off with it. At that point, I realized that I had shaved my entire face with the plastic cap on the razor.

Tip #14: Make sure it's toothpaste you're putting on your brush, not something from you're wife's tube of hair goo.

Well, if one is going to shave in that state, it is likely best that the plastic cap remain on.

Make (and drink some) coffee first.
Preferably, set it up the night before to go off automatically, or so that you only have to start it.
Fumbling around w/ filters & grounds in that state of semi-consciousness could be messy.

I'm using Gillete March III and I don't shave more than 3 times with one blade.
