In the middle of emotional stress immature and reactionary people tend to react without the normal filters in place. Outbursts that are always painful and sometimes revealing--like Chris Matthews' comments--give the audience an unvarnished view of the motivations of the speaker.
Chris Matthews, because of the latest of many insults, owes Michael Schindler a personal apology.

Got that right, Dan. Have you ever seen or heard anyone more giddy than Matthews? My God, there is a clip floating around of Matthews literally giggling over Clinton during his first public appearance post-op.

I don't think Malkin gave much of a rebuttal - a couple of undated pictures? Do we forget that Malkin must hate Matthews guts since he dressed her down on national television? Not to justify Matthews comment, but the woman is desperate to take any stab at Matthews she can.

Matthews is an idiot. Did he spray those words when he said them? He grosses me out... his mouth is always drooling spittle. He needs to be replaced.

He didn't dress her down, he acted like an asshole to her. He does this to every guest who isn't as moonbatty as he is. How more obnoxious can you get when you badger people with questions and cut them off everytime they open their mouth to answer? Anne Coulter has a great way of handling that lame trick.

Nobody listens to Chris Mathews. His hair is so on fire when he's around a moderate, I can't stand to watch him for more than a minute.
