NEWS.com.au - (December 14, 2004) - A Sydney judge has reduced the jail sentence of a former employee of a leading childcare provider, accepting the man's defence that he downloaded child pornography to "sabotage" his boss's career.It's so much better than the lame, "research" defense...David Peter Allan Jubb, 24, was sentenced in September by Magistrate Robert Abood to 12 months' jail after downloading more than 100 pornographic images on to a laptop computer issued by his employer, Communicare.
He was convinced his boss would shoulder the blame for the illegal material.
He told Burwood Local Court he did not download the material for personal gratification, but rather to get revenge on his boss, Carter Robinson.

I remember folks doing this sort of nonsense back in the days of FIDONet. The guy spoofing the posts requesting the pedo-smut was busted for it, but not before the guy he was impersonating was buried under 5 metric tons of flames.

Well, it is a rather lame excuse. Except that people who are into kiddieporn download images in the tens of thousands.
Anecdotal, of course, but of all such porn cases that have come through my office, never have they been for such a relative handful of porn images.

I think I've read this very same excuse, err, rationalization, err, defense by people who write viral programs...you know, someone made them do it, thereabouts.

Why did he have to go as far as 100 images?
