Via Kevin McCullough comes this headline from the Middle Eastern Media Research Institute(MEMRI):
SADDAM'S ITALIAN LAWYER GIOVANNI DE STAFANO TOLD A LONDON-BASED DAILY THAT A MEETING WAS HELD BETWEEN HIMSELF AND OSAMA BIN LADEN AT THE RASHID HOTEL IN BAGHDAD IN 1998. (AL-SHARQ AL-AWSAT, LONDON, 10/15/04)I did some digging into the background of Saddam's lawyer Giovanni De Stafano, and based on the extensive biograph from The New Zealand Herald, I'd say that anything this man claims is highly suspect.

The guy's a lawyer, so you don't need research to suspect his veracity. But I've got to admit he seems to be ...ahh... unique.
Along the same line, what ever happened to Saddam's Minister of Truth? Could the Kerry team use him about now?

But why would he make something like that up? You'd think he'd make up the opposite. Saddam's lawyer certainly has no interest in legitimizing the Iraq invasion. Very weird.
