The company, whose Big Macs and super-size french fries have drawn criticism for promoting obesity, said it is "committed to playing a responsible and active role" in solving the U.S. obesity problem. Some two-thirds of Americans are overweight.

Iraqi WMD Discovered - In Europe

UNITED NATIONS, April 14 -- Large amounts of nuclear-related equipment, some of it contaminated, and a small number of missile engines have been smuggled out of Iraq for recycling in European scrap yards, according to the head of the United Nations' nuclear watchdog and other U.N. diplomats.
Mohammed ElBaradei, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, warned the U.N. Security Council in a letter that U.N. satellite photos have detected "the extensive removal of equipment and, in some instances, removal of entire buildings" from sites that had been subject to U.N. monitoring before the U.S.-led war against Iraq.

My, Nikita's getting a bit desperate for publicity, eh?
Anyway... have you tried the McVeggie Burger yet? I had one the other day. Not bad! I haven't checked the calorie content comparison with a real burger, though. Knowing McD's, it's probably just as fattening as the real meat burger but designed to convince me that I'm "dieting" by eating it.

I've had both the McVeggie and BK's veggie burger and BK's wins hands down. I'd rather have Taco Bel any day though.

I'd rather have Taco Bell, too. But the BK's here don't have a veggie burger yet, darn it.
So today, when my son wanted a Happy Meal after preschool, I went ahead and ordered another McVeggie. The lady taking my order asked, "Would you like bacon or cheese on that?" When I declined, she then tried pushing fries, a shake and an apple pie.
I'm thinking the McVeggie thing's going to be a very short-lived trend.

I'll have to try that McVeggie thing.
Have you heard that McDonalds is going to offer a bunless version of it's burgers nationwide in a nod to low carb dieters? I heard that on the radio last week.
