It's about time. MTV's real world is heading to San Diego. Sun and surf equal exposed bodies and higher ratings. They start filming next month so they are likely to get the best beach weather of the year. If MTV history is any guide expect the group house to be in Mission Beach, Pacific Beach or La Jolla.
Casting is underway for seven strangers picked to live in the house. The series starts in January 2004.

It's gotta be La Jolla or points north. I can't think of any beachfront property in PB or MB that would be big enough and secure enough.

I thought about that, but RW Chicago was right in the heart of a residential area and they completely deck out the loft with security systems, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if you are right, but I think they would want the scenery shots from the boardwalk. Maybe they'll have some late night drunken scenes at Roberto's at the Coaster...

I think La Jolla as well, next guess would be Mission Beach. From what I know about San Diego County, there are more things to do in these areas.

I drove by the house last night after being tipped off from my fisherman neighbor. It's in Point Loma right on the harbor. It's in an odd location, no houses around the area. It's bright blue and they were working on it when I drove by.
Should be interesting, dirty fisherman and MTV!

As far as I can tell it is. On the way up some guys working on a car in the parking lot adjacent to the docks asked me if I was working there. He seemed to know about it. There were also a dispropotionate amount of security people/fences for any other kind of building. The house is the same as the realworldhouses.com guy had pics of. I asked one of the security guys when someone would be moving in, and he just smiled. It has a big volleyball pit on the side facing harbor drive and some exercise equipment in the bottom floor with the large window. If you are in SD, check it out yourself and see what you think.

I am so sad that I moved away from SD last summer. I'm thinking I might move back just so that I can stalk the Real World house. My husband's parents own a boat that is docked nearby; I'm thinking about living on it so I can spy on the cast! If I pull the boat up close enough to the shore I could probably get some great candid shots of all the guys!!!

We are the biggest fans, we never miss an episode. Kris tried out for this season and didn't make it, I am hoping to get in next year's version "Real World Houston". We are planning on having parties every night that the show is on so that we can giggle and scream when they show clips of places we've been! Whoooo!

Totally gnarly dudes, like oh my god totally no way for shure. This is like the greatest thing to happen since Dick Van Patten's Potato and Duck flavor crunch balls! hey guys....why the hell Point Loma? That's the MOST lame location ever...they should have picked downtown San Diego, that's where all the life is. Pacific Beach even, for christ sakes. I'm very dissapointed they picked the shabbiest area of San Diego. Hillcrest, Beach towns, and Downtown woul dhave been a much better choice.

first of all point loma is an awesome location! I go to PLNU and one of our dorms was listed in surf mag as the best dorm at a uni to surf at/and the hot chicks add to the atmosphere....
and...yeah theres ob...mexico.
rw will see how cool sd is (and how much better it is than l.a.)
my cousin is a manager for an apt complex in point loma and she says that the director for the real world leased a one bedroom across the hall from her.

The cast was at Dave and Busters in Mission Valley. Only 4 of the cast was there I beleive. I met and talked to the punk chick. Didnt happen to catch her name but she was mad cool to talk to. One girl that said she was from SF was there too but kinda quiet. Another girl was with them and he was real quiet too. Didnt say anything at all. The one guy that was with them was off somewhere else playing games or whatever. Maybe he was the token gay guy hanging out with all of the girls

the house isn't heavily guarded at all times. when i went there this past Saturday, there was absolutely no one outside. I saw them filming on the outside patio. I came back later on that evening tho and there were a couple guys there ready to scoot people away.... where did you guys see pictures of any of the cast members?

I remember when Rachel from the San Fransisco Real World used to study at a cafe in Pacific Beach. My friend asked her for Puck's phone number and she started cryign as usual. Get over it you lame-ass. I think they should put Puck in every season to make these idiot's lives a living hell. Then, and only then would I watch.

hey, a friend and i were at fashion valley mall about a week ago, and they were filming this hot blonde chick - just walking around the shops (near D'lush and AMC). that's where i heard about Mtv in SD.
so today we found the house. we parked in the alley, then took a stroll along the pier toward the last dock. just pretended like we were fishermen goin to our boat. we got right up to the back door of the house. they got a full-on volleyball court, it's sweet! then we noticed a boat for sale in the dock in front of the house - so we checked that out. we noticed a camera crew on the balcony filming some chick. then 1 girl turned into 4, and they were all hooting and waiving hi! so we smiled and waived back. then we started talking to one of the boat-owners and he was telling us all about the house and the girls - and as we were leaving, the blonde chick i saw at the mall came walking down the dock!! she smiled and said hi and then went and greeted the guy we were talking to. was sweet.
we might hit the house again - next time in a sailboat, or kayak! haha

I was at a bonfire party on OB saturday night when the real world showed up there. Kinda weird as it was away from all city life so i was surprised. But we sat and talked with robin for quite awhile and she was a real cool chick. I got in last night.
My girlfriend and I parked in the public parking lot at the entrance, then we snuck up to where we could see the gaurd when he walked behind the building we ran up to the sidewalk pulled our tops off and streaked down to the house. Randy and Brad were on the balcony and invited us up with the condition that we leave our tops off. After about 15 minutes Cameron gave Brad and Randy a real scolding and they let us put our tops back on. The rest of the night was so cool they are all realy fun.
P.S. you will have to waite untill the show airs to know who I am.

I just saw the cast being filmed last night at a gay bar/restaurant called Hamburger Mary's in Hillcrest. There are signs on the entrances saying MTV will be filming there periodically during the month and to avoid the cameras if you do not want to be on tv.

Hey i went to the real world house and it is the best thing. I think that i will end up being on the show sometime in an episode. The cast memebers had a huge party and I was there. I met them at a resturant i was the waitress...and one of the cast memebers was hitting on me and so i went back to the house and hung out with all of them. I wont say who the cast memeber was...but lets just say that i think i will be added to the list of hookups for them. When u see the show....I was the girl wearing the tight light blue girls and white shirt......Now You guys can tell everyone that u know me!! lol but anyways the House rocked!!!

yes, they do have a hot tub go to realworldsd.com and look at the photos. Theres one upclose one of the hot tub on the deck that goes the hole length of the house on the 1rst floor.
